9th July 

On friday evening I organised a dinner for 85 people as part of charity raising festival for funds for village hall in Wilmcote. Nr Stratford upon avon.

For dessert I purchased strawberries from wholesale in Western road. I insisted on English. This is just to let you know that they are probably the best I have ever tasted and were commented on by many of the guests, I will keep an eye open in the future for your produce.

I am writing to thank you for your kind donation of strawberries for our first 2 events recently ( The Market Bosworth Show), where we sold strawberries and cream in aid of Breast Cancer Care and supporting us in our participation in the " Trek China 2006". Your donation has helped us too raised to date to £1440, which we are extremely proud of.

I spoke to member of your staff today to say that we had purchased some of your strawberries for the first time and they are marvellous.

My father used to grow strawberries 57 years ago in the New Forest and he supplied CoventGarden. His were so good that he used  to be paid £1 per pound for the fist ones of the season, usually about 16th May - just in time for my Birthday! Yes £1 per pound in those days!

Please let me know the variety.
